What is Gift Card Buy Back all about?
Gift Card Buy Back is part of a company that buys, sells, and accepts donated gift cards from consumers.  We buy cards for up to 80+% of the balance.  However, rates can vary by company or over time for the same company.

Will you buy my paper gift certificate?
No - sorry we do not buy paper gift certificates due to potential counterfeit and storage issues.

Do you buy Merchandise Credit gift cards from the companies list on your site?
Yes - we buy merchandise credit, store credit, and returns gift cards as long as they do not expire in less than 18 months and they are not non-transferable.  See our Merchandise Credit Policy page for further details.

Why don’t you buy gift cards from other companies?
There are many reasons we have a preferred list of companies.  Here are a few:

• Some companies do not allow resale of their gift cards.
• We focus on national and multi-regional retailers and restaurants.
• Some gift card values cannot easily be verified with the issuing company.  We want to be sure the value is correct when the gift card is resold.

I have other gift cards I’d like to sell that are not listed on your site – will you take them?
No – we only buy gift cards of the companies listed on our site.

Do you buy promotional gift cards that are offered from some of the companies listed on your website?
No – promotional gift cards have very short expiration periods and cannot be resold quickly enough for buyers to use them.  Please do not mail promotional gift cards to us or we will dispose of them.

Why isn’t the XYZ company still listed on the site?
Unfortunately, sometimes the status of a company changes and it is removed from our preferred list.

Why do you only buy gift cards with balances ranging from $10 to $300?
Our current policy is to buy gift cards with balances between $10 and $300.  We will periodically review this policy and may adjust the range.  Check the site occasionally for updates if you have cards less than $10 or more than $300.

I sold my card for 80% last time and now it is going for 75% - what gives?
Gift card offer prices (i.e. cash back) vary based on their marketability and demand.  Also, used gift cards with odd values (e.g. $19.37) will generally be purchased at a lower offer price than other cards.

Is it safe to mail my cards?
In our opinion, the safest way to mail your gift cards is through the United States Post Office.  Please use a strong envelope for orders with four (4) or more cards.  We are not responsible for cards mailed to us that become lost.

How do I verify the amount on my gift card?
Call the toll-free number or visit the website listed on the back of the gift card to verify the balance.  You will be asked to enter your gift card number, so have your cards available.  You may need to scratch off a pin number for some companies.

Why does my card have less on it now then when I bought it last year?
Many companies have what are called “dormancy rules” where they begin to deduct dormancy fees from your gift card balance after a period of time stated on the back of the card.  Most companies are not being malicious with these fees, but are trying to reduce their liability for cards that are never used (e.g. lost cards).  However, there are some companies with very aggressive rules where your balance can “expire” as early as six months after purchase.  Please make it a habit to read the rules on the back of your gift cards before you lose out on your cash.

Why do I have to verify the card amount if you are going to verify it too?
It is your responsibility to verify the balance on the card and resolve any issues with the gift card company BEFORE you sell it to us.  If the card balance differs when we receive it we will notify you, and then adjust your cash back amount accordingly. 

Why does it take up to 10 days to get my cash?
We verify the value of all gift cards before mailing a check to our customers.  Our goal is to promptly and thoroughly complete this process so you can receive your check within 10 days of when you mailed your gift cards.  However, very high volume periods may potentially delay this time period. 

I’m from Canada; can I sell my gift cards?
No – we currently only buy and subsequently sell gift cards in the United States and all values are transacted in US dollars.
